Summer is finally here, and you know what that means. The Beach: Sandy chips, annoying seagulls, sunburn and the entire city congressed on a small stretch of sand. This might sound like Hades to some, to me it's my childhood, growing up on the pristine beaches of the Sunshine Coast. So now, living in perpetual Winter, the moment the sun comes out at Christmas time, I am running for the beach. However, there are a few necessities that must be organised first, to ensure im prepared for that blistering Hobart sun.
1. Nail Polish in your favourite bright shade, for me
its Orange and nothing beats Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme
Wear Nail Color in Sun Kissed.
2. Paw Paw ointment pretty much speaks for itself. I
usually lather it on post sun to decrease burning and as a perfect
lip balm during the day. Lucas' Paw Paw Ointment
3. Organix Coconut Milk is perfect for salt
dried hair after rinsing.
4. My Ysl Terre Saharienne Bronzing Powder, gives
that perfect summer glow on and off the beach. Just sweep a light
dusting over cheekbones, forehead, nose and decolletage.
5. For me nothing says summer more than the smell of Le
Tan Coconut tanning oil, so I NEVER go without when I'm in the
sun.
6. Becca Beach Tint in Watermelon is my
favourite shade to pink up my lips and is water resistant so I don't
have to worry about reapplying!
7. Again another obvious one is Water! Nothing is more
important than keeping hydrated when in the sun and the ocean. I
usually drink 3 or more litres in summer, to keep my body cleansed
and my skin as clear as possible.
8. Something else I like is a fresh summer scent like Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. It's not too heavy, which is perfect for summer nights.
9. Finally, the most obvious but often forgotten piece. Sunscreen. For me it needs to be spf 30 or more, and Oil Free for my face. No one does it better than Shiseido Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector SPF 42.
