Nearly every girl on the planet is familiar (if not obsessed) with British Boyband phenomenon One Direction. Yes, Yes I know what you're thinking, but please hear me out. While many may question the five boys' abilities in the recording booth or the question I am most commonly asked "but, aren't they, like Twelve?" However in between Recording their two Platinum Albums Up All Night and Take Me Home, Their World wide sell out tour, winning VMA's and BRITS alike as well as their personal lives splashed across tabloids (Harry I'm looking at you) for me it wasn't their angel like crooning, their voluptuous hair, razor sharp cheekbones and before you punch me they ARE all older than me (besides Harry who is only a month younger) it was their fashion sense that has impressed me most. One Direction have become Style Icons for our generation, growing and maturing from the blazers, church pants, plaid shirts and Supra high-tops of 2010 to flawless Burberry suits, waistcoats and Prada Brogues. All Five boys, in their casual attire favour simple pieces from Topman, Asos, Comme des Garcons, Burberry, All Saints and Ralph Lauren along with Louis Vuitton and Gucci luggage and watches. It was Autumn/Winter 2012 London Fashion week when 18 year old Harry Styles stepped out, front row at Aquascutum. bedecked in a crisp white shirt, charcoal jeans and a beige Aquascutum Trench Coat slung over his left arm. Next it was Styles again, Front row at Burberry SS13, in a tailored Burberry suit, seated snug between Dita Von Teese and Dev Patel. Perhaps my favourite moment was the December issue of Vogue UK, all five boys their beauty akin to any other model gracing the glossy pages, where absolute perfection in custom Ralph Lauren Varsity jackets and Burberry suits...surely I'm dreaming?
