the tropics

Summer is still 'a raging and I have escaped the stuffy confides of the City, fleeing to my Parents home in the Country. I love coming to my parents, it's so relaxing and perfect for my last few weeks before Uni starts. Mum is a keen Sewer, Gardener and amazing Cook, and I luckily inherited these loves. Her Kitchen and Sewing room are amazing, so when I'm staying I love taking advantage, baking brownies and sewing clothes. I just finished the latter, inspired by this seasons Tropical print trend, in particular, Ksubi. So mum and I made an expedition to Spotlight, where I tracked down some super goovy Tropical fabric. While this may dreg up terrible visions of sleezy uncles in 90s Hawaiian shirts, I assure you, it is quite chic, not to mention point on trend. So with an afternoon on hand, a fresh coffee and mum made blackcurrant and apple slice (blackcurrents picked from the garden this morning, naturally) I whipped up a pair, of Tropical print high waist hot pants. They are so much fun, I feel like I will be donning them for the rest of summer. bliss.
